Mechtronix flight simulator installed at Elbit Systems receives a Level D Qualification, the highest licensing level for flight simulators which will allow Elbit Systems to train civil aviation pilots.

Mechtronix Systems Inc., a division of Mechtronix World Corp. (MWC), the fastest growing and third leading provider of flight training equipment in the world, today announced that its B200 King Air FFS X™ simulator installed at Elbit’s new facility in Netanya, Israel received Level D certification from Transport Canada and is now ready for training. Level D Qualification, the highest licensing level for flight simulators, allows Elbit Systems to train and instruct civil aviation pilots, both from Israel and from abroad.

Elbit Systems and Mechtronix Systems cooperated to develop the B200 FFS™ level D platform. The FFS X™ features the latest generation simulation components like an electric motion base, LCoS projectors and replication architecture that make it much easier and less costly to own and operate than “classic” simulators. The FFS X™ architecture maximizes the use of OEM software for simulated displays and avionics thus, significantly reducing the need for expensive aircraft hardware and associated maintenance requirements.

“We offer our congratulations to Elbit on its successful level D certification and the organization’s new training facility,” said Xavier Hervé, president of Mechtronix Systems Inc. We have installed and qualified many FFS level D training platforms; however this is our first B200 of that level and we are extremely pleased that our customer is happy with the end product. We are glad we were able to provide Elbit with exactly what they needed.”
